cuil inflation: Cuil seems to be confused as to how many results it has, versus displayed. For the record, Google lists some 449 resources (under an ‘all words’ search - the closest approximate) and closing on ~1 million under standard search settings. How do you round ~4 results to over 200,000?! At least Google’s result falls into the realms of reasonable rounding versus perfomance. Cuil? Hopeless. We inflate because we’re cuil.

leopard desktop: OS X 10.5.0, Leopard.. the two Kanji characters represent the word Ninja. I’m big on a minimal, controlled desktop and workspace.
And folks thought tumbr was a dead duck. Well, quack, quack, guess who has new feathers?!
The changes are quite simply massive, with a complete UI overhaul with the use of large fonts, lots of crisp whitespace, improved image handling and tagging to name but a few.
I mean, the login window is gorgeous. Why cram such a thing into a small portion of the whitespace, when it can take center stage. And the new back end has a very professional, polished feel.
Nice work by the tumblr crew.
